On Failure

Mistakes and Failures are part of the tour experience [...] Progess is almost always never linear. There will always be slip-ups and mistakes, failures and rejections. But if we consider these setbacks as part of the tour, it becomes easier to come to terms with our vulnerabilities. You are not late. You simply took the scenic route. You're not mistaken. You simply explored an uncharted path. You are not lacking. You were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever it was, you've done enough, you are enouggh, you're doing great.

With how I am doing in terms of my academic life, I am bound to stay in college for the next 4 years if things go as planned. With there being the necessary struggles one must undergo in college, I must abandon the notion of unnecessary stress and anciety.

I should live college as how I lived high school. A game I will enjoy responsibly. The only difference is that I will remove the time spent being idle. Doing tasks that are unimportant and end up not contributing to the quality of life should be limited. Life should be lived actively. Kapag enjoy, enjoy. Kapag inom, inom. Kapag aral, syempre enjoy the aral.

Hindi ko maiiwasan na makalimutan itong isabuhay. Hindi ko maiiwasan na malugmok sa kalungkutan at pagkabahala sa kung ano man ang mangyayari sa akin sa hinaharap na puno ng kawalang-katiyakan at panganib. Hindi ko maiiwasan na sa kung ano man ang gawin ko ay hindi ko gagawin sa abot ng aking makakaya.

Out of these, I am expected to set up countermeasures that will lead me towards success when I am lead astray But I will not do it. The very being of sheer willpower will determine whether I succeed or not. Relying on it is an obvious careless and irresponsible move. But what would you expect from me?

Failures are bound to happen. Pero hindi ganito kalala na sa akin. Though it is a major setback in the eyes of the commons, I do not see myself as a failure. Kung ako mismo is titingnan ang sarili ko as a failure, then everything that I am, the accumulated experience and the life that I have lived, will be all for naught.

To stand for everything I am, and to live as authentic as (Sartre or Camus) has proclaimed, I must not die a dog's death.
